美元是美国实力和地位的标志。美元霸权的根本在于支撑美国的全球霸权。美元指数在2007年中延续了2001年以来的下行走势,受美国经济衰退及次贷危机影响,目前再度大幅下跌。随着美国华尔街金融危机的不断深化,美元跌势依旧,以美元为本位的国际货币金融体系正在遭受布雷顿森林体系崩溃以来最严峻的一场考验。尽管美元霸权地位短期内还不会终结,但种种潜流表明,其日渐式微的体系运转正在悄然敲响一个货币帝国时代的晚钟。

US dollar index has continued to fall since 2001, it deeply falls once again under the influence of the American economic recession and the subprime lending crisis. Along with American Wall Street financial crisis＇ s continuously deepening, US dollar bears market as before, the international currency financial system taking US dollar as the standard is suffering the stem test since the Bretton woods system collapsed. Although US dollar hegemony status will not end in the short-term, all sorts of undercurrents indicated that declined system revolution day after day is sounding the end of one currency empire time quietly.
