摘要
在可及性理论中,显著性被视为影响对象实体可及性高低的四大要素之一。但是关于显著性究竟是什么,它是如何影响回指语的选择和使用的,在可及性理论中论述并不充分。我们的分析和观察表明,显著性虽然对语篇实体的可及性有影响,但这种影响并不明显反映在回指语的选择使用上。关于显著性是造成回指语系统性差异的论断是值得商榷的。
The Accessibility Theory regards Saliency as a major factor influencing the accessibility of discourse entities, which in turn determines the choice of anaphoric expressions. But a careful observation casts doubt on this claim. Despite its unquestionable impact on the accessibility of discourse entities, Saliency seems to have little bearing on the choice of anaphoric expressions in local discourse environment. If the theory is to remain valid, it seems, a re-examination and refinement of its conceptual basis is needed.
