The nineteenth century witnessed the ＂golden age＂ of Russian music, and Tchaikovsky＇s music represented the highest achievement of that period. Tchaikovsky attached great importance to ideological and national character in his music, and his works always expressed a distinct ethnic sentiment and tragic, which is the focus of this paper.
