David H. Jonassen is one of the outstanding leaders in the field of instructional system technoloby. In this article, the author reviews his ideas on instructional technology and his contributions to the theory-building and practice-improvement of the field ,from his theory and views about learning, technology and Instructional Design, tries to understand the evolution of his ideas based on the development of his career and explores the implications for the future.
