The translating process involves cultural difference as well as knowledge of language. The cultural difference between source language and target language has a great influence upon the quality of translation. This paper focuses on the cultural difference between China and western countries from various aspects such as words and expressions, thinking patterns, social and religious traditions and thus points out the significance of appropriately dealing with cultural difference in translation.
