摘要
外来成人移民是澳大利亚一个特殊的社会群体。他们能成功地掌握英语,并顺利地适应当地环境,应归功于澳大利亚成人移民英语方案(AMEP)的实施、改革与不断创新。深入研究该方案所经历的不同历史时期可以看出,它不仅反映出应用语言学在澳大利亚的发展动态,而且在对语言教学理论的实践应用方面为世界各国树立了榜样,值得借鉴与思考。
Australian Adult Migrant is a special social group. Their successful mastery of English and accommodation to the local environment should attribute to the implementation, reform and innovation of the Australian Adult Migrant English Program. This paper, through thorough research on different phases of its development, has found that it not only presents the dynamics of Applied Linguistics, but also makes a good example for other countries in the application of linguistic theories to educational practice, which merits learning and reflection.
