The Repercussion of the Debate on Free-style Verse in the Initial Peoriod of Literary Revolution——Reevaluate the Debate on new-vernacular Verse Between the Crystal and Hu Shi in 1919

1919年下半年起,《晶报》与胡适之间就白话诗与旧诗的优劣展开了论争,《晶报》同入提出了不少值得深思的意见,这些意见甚至与鲁迅、朱自清、废名等人后来的看法不无相似之处。尽管由于胡适对《晶报》同人的先入之见和有意冷落,这场论争最终未能深入下去,我们仍不难由此发现小报所处的两难困境:他们有意靠探讨学理来提高品位,但新文学家的漠视却使得其努力化为乌有。

The authors of the Crystal have debated upon the merits and defects of the free - style and classical verse since the second half of 1919 .They provided quite a little food for thought which was similar to new - vernacular writers such as Luxun,Zhuziqing and Feiming This debate has＇ t been developped to a deepper stage becourse of Hushi＇ s prejudice and cold - shoulder .
