婆罗门牛与本地黄牛杂交效果研究续报

THE SECOND REPORT ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF NATIVE YELLOW CATTLE BY CROSSBREEDING WITH AMERICAN BRAHMAN

作者于1984年开始进行以婆罗门品种为父本与闽南黄牛杂交研宄。结果表明,所获得的婆闽牛体型好、长得快、产肉量多,在农家饲养条件下,20月龄屠宰胴体重为120.6kg,净肉重为98.3kg,比闽南黄牛分别提高61.8％和70.1％,产奶性能比闽南黄牛高1～2倍,且役力强,役用综合性能提高40.3％。耐热、耐粗和抗焦虫病,能较好地适应我省亚热带生态环境,是目前较为理想的杂交组合。

A trial of crossbreeding American Brahman bull to cows of the native breed,Southern Fujian Yellow Cattle,has been conducted since 1984. The result indicates that the crossbred offspring,Brahman-Min Cattle,have an obvious hybrid vigor with the characteristics of better body conforma- tion,faster growth rate and more beef production.As the offspring grew up to 20 months age,the average carcase weight and the net beef weight were estimated at 120.6kg and 93.3kg respectively.These indices are 61.8％ and 70.7％ higher than those of native cattle.The milking capability of Brah- man-Min is about 2-3 times as much as that of native cattle.The hybrids are doing well in the poor conditions and have a good adaptation to the subtropical environment.Their drafting ability increases by 40.3％.Fur- thermore,they are characterized by possessing the tolerance to heat and the resistance to piroplasmosis.This crossbreeding is thought to be ideal hy- bridized combination and the economical efficiency of raising this hybrid cattle are apparently higher than that of raising native cattle.This hy- brid is very acceptable to the farmers in the different areas of Fujian Pro- vince.
