Based on the theories including cooperation principle, and turn-taking of pragmatics, this pa- per analyzes the dialogue in the novel Jane Eyre and exemplifies that the theories of dialogue type in pragmatics can be used in literature appreciation. On the other hand, the paper also offers the readers a new angle to enjoy the vividness of the literature language.
