从《古文辞类纂》到《经史百家杂钞》——论曾国藩与桐城派的承传关系

From Anthology of Classical Prose to Collection of Historic Classical Works——On the Coherent Relation between Zeng Guo-fan and Tongcheng School

曾国藩祖于桐城,文风却与桐城迥异,究其因,在曾氏之审美观,桐城论文恶骈俪、以质实为美,曾氏法汉赋、尚声律藻饰。论者多拈出曾氏经济说以别桐城,然质曾氏经济之实,在重文章艺术——与桐城一脉,而非内圣外王、文章内容。唯美的而非唯实的文章观念与曾国藩作为政治家的身份似相悖,其实不然,经济文章,正在其艺术,以文道论,唯美正是唯实。

Zeng Guo -fan was born in Tongcheng, but his writing style was different from Tongcheng School. Many researchers have picked out Zeng 's theory of the administration of one's government for the benefit of people to differ from Tongcheng School's. However, Zeng focused on the art of arti- cles but not the contents of articles ,which has co- herent relation with Tongcheng School. It seems that the aesthetic concept in his writing contradicts with his politician status ,yet this is not the case, the essence of his articles which showing the idea of governing the country well and enhancing the pros- perity of the people lies in the art of the works. Ac- tually, to focus on somthing aesthetic is to focus on something realistic in writing.
