2008年，中国通信业走过了不平凡的一年。工业和信息化部的成立拉开了“两化融合”的帷幕。电信重组引领中国电信业步入全业务运营时代，TD—SCDMA（以下简称TD）正式试商用昭示着国产标准的繁荣发展，举世瞩目的奥运会见证了中国通信业的腾飞，而冰雪灾害、抗震抢险更让人们领略到中国通信人的伟大风采……这一切都注定将被载入中国通信业的史册。
The year of 2008 was an unusual one in the history of China Communications sector. The founding of MIIT (the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) opened a new era of informatization and industrialization convergence; the telecom revamp has led the operators towards all-service operation; TD-SCDMA commercial trial has shown the booming of China's independent 3G standard. The renowned Olympic Games saw the rise of China's commnications; and the snow disaster and earthquake made the role of communications in emergency response well-known. All those above will be enshrined into the history of China telecom sector.The year of 2008 was hard to forget for China telecom sector. Recently CATR of MITT unveiled 'Top Ten Keys of 2008'. It has been the fifth consecutive year for organizing such an activity. Ten keywords were selected based on the recommendations by authorities, objective reviews by the committee and extensive participation in voting by netizen, which can be as an important reference to witness and explain the development of China's communications industy, to evaluate and analyze the hot issues and trends in the development of the sector. The selected keywords foreshadow a bright future while recalling the past.
