数据挖掘能解决信息技术发展中存在的大量有用信息数据缺乏的问题,从而完成从业务数据到决策信息的转换。在论述数据挖掘、联机分析处理概念和技术的基础上,介绍了一种用Visual Basic实现和利用数据挖掘技术对高校学生选课数据进行开发的方法。同时阐释介绍了对SQL SERVER数据库访问的技术,进一步阐释了VB应用程序对SQL SERVER数据库各种业务操作的实现方法。

Data mining is the process of automatically extracting valid,useful,previously unknown,ultimately comprehensible information from large databases and using it to make crucial decisions. The concept and the technology of the data mining and OLAP is discussed in the thesis, and the method of developing the data of course selected in college based on data mining technology using VB is introduced in the thesis. It discusses the technology,which is used to visit the SQL Server database,and the further study on how VB application system visits the SQL Server database is taken into condition.
