Auto/Biography contains fiction, which renders self narrative sometimes a different text from the subject' s own experience. By reading Paul John Eakin' s How Our Lives Become Stories, this study examines the issue of subjectivity in self-narrative in autobiography from three perspectives: ( 1 ) Autobiography is none the other but biography. Autobiography and biography overlap each other. (2) The subject is fictional; in the field where autobiography is produced such concepts as subject, ego or author lie here and there. (3) The self is mobile and multifaceted. The cognitiveness of past experience on the part of ego is not static, but mobile and developing. Different periods and different environments leave marks on the self' s understanding of the world, resulting in uncertainties of one's memory.
