New tasks for college foreign language teaching

本文论述了新形势下大学外语教学的主要任务，即继续推进和深化大学英语教学改革，重视多语种大学外语教学，促进教学模式变革，加强师资队伍建设，并提出高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会要加强研究，发挥其指导作用。

This paper identifies four main priorities for college foreign language teaching, namely, reform in college English teaching, more courses in foreign languages other than English, improverment in the leaching mode, and teacher training and development. The author suggests that the Advisor Committce of Foreign Language Teaching in Colleges and Universities should provide more professional guidance and service based on research.
