埃德加·爱伦·坡是美国文学史上最有影响的作家之一。其作品大多以死亡、凶杀、复仇等为主题。他常常以第一人称,用象征、叙述、重复等表现手法,为读者描绘出许多怪诞诡异的另类世界。本文从爱伦·坡坎坷的人生路和他生活时代特点出发,分析他的思维方向和文学创作中所变现的与众不同的艺术观。
Edgar Ellen Poe is one of the most influential writers in the history of American literature. Most of themes of his works are connected with death, homicide, and revenge. He often adopts the first person narration, using symbols, narrative and repetition to depict the readers a much weird and alternative world. The paper starts from Poe＇ frustrated life and the characteristics of his times, then analysis the direction of his thinking and his distinctive artistic view in the creation of literature.
