The Truth of Literary History——A Study from the Perspective of the History of Modern Chinese Fiction

作为文学与历史的奇妙结合体,文学史自始至终都将徘徊于真实与虚构、主观与客观、史实与史识、全面与片面、高雅与通俗以及过去与当代等诸多矛盾体中。唯有从整体上考察这些矛盾体,才有可能找出文学史的真相。

As the amazing mixture of literature and history, literary history has from the beginning lingered in the contradictory pairs of truth and fiction, subjective and objective, facts and explanation, completeness and incompleteness, elegance and popularity, past and contemporary age etc. In fact, we can only find the literary truth by studying the above-mentioned contradictions in the overall sense. In this article, the author will try to provide a perspective for this problem by taking the practice of compiling history of modern Chinese fiction into account.
