Women'Life and Conceptions of Women Education in Yan's Family Instructions

颜之推在《颜氏家训》中记载了南北朝妇女的生活状况。南朝妇女虽然在家庭中有不从夫权的现象,但在社会上依然没有地位。北朝妇女受儒家礼教束缚少,泼辣能干,在家庭、社会上有一定地位。颜之推以封建士大夫的立场,着眼于家族的长远利益,认为妇女应该遵从儒家礼教,用聪明才智辅助丈夫。这既揭示出动荡社会中士大夫的特殊心态,又对当时的社会历史生活做出客观反映。

Yan Zhitui recorded women＇life in the Southern and Northern Dynasties in Yan＇s Family Instructions . Though women in the Southern Dynasty sometimes did not obey their husbands, they still had not social status. Women in the Northem Dynasty who were influenced less by Confucianism had certain status in family and society. Standing on the federal officials＇ points, thinking about long benefits of the whole family, Yan Zhitui believed that women should conform to Confucianism and assist husbands with their witness and capability. It both opened up the special mentality of Yan Zhitui in that turbulent society and reflected the social historical life objective.
