夏承焘《韦庄年谱》生年续考

A Continued Textual Research into Xia Chengtao's Birth Year in Chronicle of Wei Zhuang

韦庄之生年当在唐文宗开成元年(836年),夏承焘《韦庄年谱》即持此论,但夏谱论证尚有可商榷之处,其据《旧唐书》中史料以释韦庄《镊白》诗"新年过半百,犹叹未休兵"句,似不如以《新唐书》及《资治通鉴》中唐僖宗光启二年(886年)春的史料释之更切近此诗句之本事,从而可推定韦庄生于836年。

Wei Zhuang＇s birth year should be the first year of Kaicheng（836） during the reign of Tang Wenzong, as Xia Chengtao＇ s Chronicle of Wei Zhuang held the view. However, it is still an opinion that is open to question. The interpretation of the sentence ＂Even the new year has passed half, but it is sighed that cease-fire day hasn＇t come yet. ＂ in Wei Zhuang＇s poem Niebai in the historic material of Old TangAnnals , is not so convincing as the historic records about in spring of the second year of Guangqi （886）during the reign of Tang Xizong in New Tang Annals and the Onnprehensive Mirror for Aid in Government . According to the textual research, it is inferred that Wei Zhuang was born in 836.
