Science-technology and Rationalism in Perspective of Eco-criticism

近代以来,科学和理性走向融合,大大促进了整个社会的理性化、功利化,也加速了宗教与神学的削弱。科学技术突飞猛进和工业化进程加速发展的同时,人类的贪欲和狂妄日益膨胀,人类中心主义理念开始凸显,必然破坏人与自然的和谐共生。因此,只有突破人类中心主义的藩篱,超越对科学技术的工具性理解,以全新的生态伦理观念武装头脑,积极探索科学发展模式,树立和谐共生的审美理念,才能有效抑制生态恶化,维护生态平衡,构建人类共同的生态家园。

Since modem times the science and ration have got married, which greatly pmrnoted the growth of rationalism and utili- tarianism and simultaneously accelerated the weakening of religion and theology. Along with the speedy development of science-tech and industrialization, human greediness and arrogance have got swelling and human-centralism has come up to prominence, which will inevitably destroy the harmonious co-existence of man and nature. Therefore, only when we break through the hindrance of human-centralism, transcend the traditional understanding of science-technolcgy as the tools, equip our brains with the new ecological ethics, actively make exploration of the mode of scientific development and build up aesthetic standard of harmonious co-existence, can we effectively inhibit ecological degradation, sustain ecological balance and ultimately build up our common ecological homestead.
