摘要
英语拟声词的词性比汉语的要灵活;英语拟声动词通常兼具描述动作和声响的双重功能,而相应的汉语则需用动词加拟声副词的结构。英、汉语中均存在一些拟声名词,用来指发出被模拟的声响的事物;英语中拟声词的转义现象远多于汉语。在英汉互译过程中,非拟声词可以译为拟声词;而拟声词却并不一定需要译为拟声词。能把拟声词的痛感体现在译文中,将是翻译功力的体现。
Onomatopoeia exists in more parts of speech in English than in Chinese; An English onomatopoeic verb usually describes both an action and a concomitant sound; whereas its Chinese counterpart usually consist of a verb and an onomatopoeic adverb; Both languages contain onomatopoeic nouns referring to the things that create the sounds imitated; and semantic shift is far more common with English onomatopoeic words. In translating English to Chinese, non - on-omatopoeic words can be translated into onomatopoeic words, vice versa; whereas onomatopoeic words do not have to be translated into onomatopoeic words in the other languages.
