A Study on School PE Thoughts during the New Culture Movement

"五四新文化运动"时期,民主主义者提倡民主与科学,社会上逐步形成了一股思想解放的潮流。西方先进的思想通过传教士和国外学者以及中国先进的知识分子在中国传播,西方先进理论同时在中国得到广泛的传播。"五四新文化运动"所开创的自由学术氛围为实用主义教育思想在中国迅速传播提供了有利条件,以实用主义为理论基础的"自然主义体育"开始影响我国学校体育。

Democracy and science were advocated during the New Culture Movement, which gradually formed a trend in thought liberation in the society. The advanced thoughts in the west spread in China through the missionaries, foreign scalars and the advanced intellectuals of China. The free academic atmosphere created by the New Culture Movement provided conditions for the spreading of pragmatism on education in China. Since then the naturalist physical education based on the theory of pragmatism has begun to influence the PE in China.
