This paper studies the necessity of improving teacher＇ s independent creative abilities. It thinks that cultivation and training are the fundamental guarantee of sustainable development of higher education institutions. It also introduces the measures of improving teacher＇ s independent creative abilities through strengthening cultivation and training in some universities. It emphases that the cultivation of teacher＇ s independent creative abilities is the important part of teacher ranks construction.
