This paper introduced a heat conducting oil production technology, that is, a new energy-saving and environmental protection technology that the coking plant of Jinan Steel developed and applied. This technology can use cyclically heat conducting oil, reduced the consumption of steam and avoided increasing waste water in the steam distillation. After the item put into production, the parameters run stable, the quality indexes of product were eligible, reducing waste water 158 thousand tons per year and economic benefits were 35 120 thousand Yuan per year
