The Symbolic Meaning of Color——On the "white" in German writer Trakl's poetry

现代德语作家特拉克尔对颜色词的运用可谓独具匠心,其中白色巧妙地隐喻了诗人内心矛盾的情感:对母亲的怨和对妹妹的爱。正是这两种对立的情感使诗人一直在痛苦中煎熬,而对现实世界的悲观认识,更使他笃信只有在"白色的"死亡中才能获得灵魂的拯救。白色不再只是用以描绘事物的自然状态,它在特拉克尔的诗作中获得一种超验意义。

Trakl, the Modern German writer, used particulspecificllyarly color adjectives in his poetry. ＂white＂ is skillfully implied Trakl＇ s contradictory emotions： the resentment against his mother and the love for his sister. It is the contradictory emotions from which the poet suffered in torment. The pessimistic attitude to the reality deepened his belief that： only in ＂white＂ death hecan rescue his soul. ＂white＂ not only for natural meaning, it is embodied a transcendental significance in Trakl＇ s poetry.
