"自古以来,‘小人之无忌惮’而敢于叛圣人者,莫甚于李贽",这是晚明时期名教士大夫们对李贽所下的一方定论。然而,李贽被视为"异端"也绝非偶然,它是由其所生处年代的主、客观环境共同促成的。

＂Since the ancient time, no one can compare with Li Zhi who is considered the most anti-Confucianist person＂, this statement comes from the feudal scholar bureaucrats of the late Ming dynasty. However, it is not incidental, for it was caused by the external environment as well as Li Zhi＇s individual factors.
