Abstract Three species have been reported in the genus Pion Schiodte, 1838. This paper reports a new one of the genus from China.Pion qinyuanensis sp.nov.(figs.1.-2)The new species is similar to P.fortipes (Gravenhorst), but can be distinguished from the latter by: apical part of clypeus with a few punctures; postpediole not so much elongate; only tergite 2-4 red; ovipositor sheath suddenly curved upwardly near the middle.Holotype ♀, Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province, China. June 20, 1995, collected by Chen Guofa. Type specimen is deposited in the General Station of Forest Pest Management, Ministry of Forestry, Shenyang, China.
