文章历史地考察了图书馆读者的发展历程,论述了现代图书馆读者是一个历史地形成的概念。图书馆读者确立自己在图书馆主人的地位和权利经历了漫长的历史发展,只有进入了民主社会制度,图书馆读者权利才能得到确立和保障,而保障读者权利,是现代图书馆对维护民主社会价值的贡献。我国图书馆应该在管理制度上进行变革,以符合民主社会的价值观,彰显读者地位,保障读者权利,承担图书馆在变革时期的社会职责。

This article studied the history of the library readers. The author thinks the readers is a historical formed concept on the modern library. The library readers to establish their position and rights has experienced the long history of development. Only entered a democratic social system,the readers＇ rights can be established. The protection of the readers＇ rights is the maintenance of the modern library value of the contribution to a democratic society. Libraries should change in the management system to comply with the values of a democratic society, highlight readers status,protect the readers＇ rights, Library changes in the commitment period of social responsibility.
