Through a tracking survey on the National Science and Technology award -winning projects from 2000 to 2003, the paper analyzes what the award - winners think about the impact of awards on research and development and their needs to further conduct such R ＆ D. It also provides with their reform proposals for National Science and Technology Awards and discusses about the problems and relevant countermeasures in the process of further R ＆ D award - winning projects.
