The paper introduces types of foreign students and demands characteristic of different foreign students, and points out difficulties and problems when using college and university libraries. Then it analyzes the main factors which restrict development of information service work, and puts forward improvement advices, including leader emphasis, consolidation of collection constrution, improving knowledge structure of librarians, providing targeted reference service, etc.
