试论杨虎城的知识分子政策——兼论西安事变爆发的原因

On Intellectual Policy of Yang Hu-cheng and the Causes of Xi'an Incident

杨虎城将军一生之中非常重视教育。杨虎城主陕后,所执行的开明、宽容的知识分子政策,一方面吸引来了一批优秀的知识分子;另一方面也巩固了自己在陕西的统治,同时也推动了陕西社会的发展。因此当时陕西的舆论环境比较宽松,民众的民族精神也得到高扬,这对西安事变的爆发产生了潜在的影响。

Although General Yang had recerved limited regular education at juvenile age,he concentrated highly on education through his life. The liberal intellectual policy he performed after being in charge of Shanxi, for one thing,appealed a large number of outstanding intellectuals to arrange the social devision and reformed his authority; and for another consolidated his rule in this province. All of these promoted the development of Shanxi sociaty,relaxed speech rights and national spirits,and affected the Xi＇an Incident potentially.
