Mao Zedong's Thought on Self-Reliance & Learning from Foreign Countries and Its Practical Effects

毛泽东在领导中国人民进行社会主义革命和建设的过程中,逐步形成了有关以自力更生为主和争取外援为辅的思想。在这一思想指导下,中国人民既取得了独立自主、自力更生道路上的累累硕果,又取得了向外国学习的实践效应,为今天改革开放政策的顺利实施提供了有益的启迪和借鉴。

While leading the Chinese people into socialist revolution and construction, Mao Zedong gradually shaped his thought, i. e. rely mainly on our own efforts while making external assistance subsidiary. Under the guidance of this thought, Chinese people have achieved not only substantial achievements on the road of inde- pendence and selfreliance, but also practical effects in learning from foreign countries. All these have thrown helpful enlightenments in smooth implenmentation of today＇s opening up and reform policy.
