Objective:To probe into the fixation method for scalp vein puncture in infants, and to decrease the rate of repeated puncture of vein. Methods:A total of 1000 ill infants accepting the scalp vein puncture for transfusion in outpa- tient department in our hospital were randomly divided into test and control group. Infants of test group were fixed needle by new method. However, infants of control group accepted traditional way to fix. Then adhesive tape away from skin and pinhead off from blood vessel of all infants were observed. Results: There were statistical significant differences in terms of adhesive tape away from skin and pinhead off from blood vessel between the two groups (P〈0. 05). Conclusion:New fixation method can reduce adhesive tape away from skin and pinhead off from blood vessel and leakage. And it can reduce the repeated punc- ture so as to effectively enhance the achievement rate of venous transfusion for ill infants.
