The Study of American Academic Fiction in America

美国学院派小说形成于20世纪50年代,美国学者对该类小说的研究起源于60年代早期,一直延续到现在,并呈现出日益发展壮大的趋势。由于起步较晚,对学院派小说的研究无论在美国本土还是在我国都是一个比较新的研究课题。本文按照时间的前后顺序,对该课题在美国的研究现状进行比较全面的概括梳理,对学院派小说的主要研究成果进行较为详尽的总结。目前美国本土对美国的学院派小说研究无论是在主题研究上,还是在写作风格研究上都略显不足,有许多实质性的问题有待进一步探讨和界定。

The American academic fiction first flourished in 1950s. The research and studies carried out by American scholars started in the early 1960s and have continued till today with a tendency of speedy increase. It is supposed to be a rather new subject to both American and Chinese scholars due to the relatively late flourish of this genre. This paper is aimed at offering a comprehensive summary of its history according to time sequence and detailed introductions of all the important achievements of the American academic fiction. Generally speaking, the study on the American academic fiction is lacking in quantity, width and depth. Many principal matters need further investigation and delimitation. It is hoped that this paper may perform an instructive function to the similar studies in China and abroad.
