The increasing importance of knowledge asset brings rising knowledge management in enterprises, thus more and more enterprises implementing knowledge management need proper analysis for capacity and effect in knowledge management. Knowledge Management Maturity Model provides methodology for enterprises to evaluate their knowledge management capacity and improve it. This paper describes the basic structure and common constructing method of the model, analyzes evolving paths of maturity levels in the model, and gives instructions for researchers to further construct and study concrete model based on the basic model.
