The ability of cyctodextrin to form inclusion complexes with appropriate molecules can be used to improve the physico-chemical properties of the guest. The research progress of cyclodextrins in spinning, pretreatment, dyeing, printing, finish and waste water treatment in textile especially in finish were studied. As a new dyeing and finishing auxiliary with applied value, cyclodextrin has wide prospects in improving dyeing behavior of dyes and developing functional textiles. As dyeing assistant, cyclodextrin could form inclusion complex with some dyes, which could improve the water solubility of dyes, decease the initial dyeing rate of dye, increase the leveness. As a finishing agent, cyclodextrin could be applied on variety of functional textile, such as releasing fragrance, deodorization, anti-bacterial finish.
