A Study on Poetic Spirit and Artistic Style of Chen Jingrong

陈敬容既深受中国古代诗歌艺术的熏陶和"五四"新诗精神的洗礼,又深受西方象征派诗歌艺术的影响,使她在诗歌创作中善于将中国古代诗歌讲求意境统一与音节和谐的传统诗美,同西方象征派诗歌注重象征、暗示、意象迭加的艺术手法和哲理思辩自然地结合起来,其思想内容紧扣除旧布新的时代脉搏,成为"九叶诗派"主体倾向的真正代表诗人。

Chen Jingrong is profoundly cultivated by ancient Chinese classical poetry and influenced bythe new poetry in the period of May Fourth Movement and the western symbolic poetry （from Baudelaire to Learck ）. Therefore, in her poems creation she naturally combines Chinese traditional poetic beauty with artistic techniques of western symbolic poetry which focuses on symbol, image and implication, and the ideological contents of her poems are tightly linked with the new age spirit. Her poems are greatly different from those of the western fin-de-siede symbolism. It is her feelings of embracing the brightness that steels herself a sale poet whose poems are deep, inflexible, powerful and positive. So her poems are still giving us great enlightenment and inspiration.
