台州方言表示"聊天、闲聊"义的"白搭"构词理据不可理解,"白搭"的本字当写作"白答"。表示"聊天、闲聊"义的"白答"是中古汉语中书信往来"禀报,答复"义的引申。读作"白/tε/",这是语音变化,阴阳对转的一种结果。
Abstract： The motivation of word - formation for the Chinese word “白搭” （ bai da） meaning chat in Taizhou dialect is hardly understandable. The genuine writing for “白搭” ought to be “白答” which was derived from the meanings of the Chinese words“禀报” and “答复” meaning reply or report used in old Chinese letters. Being pronounced as/t？ / denotes the phonetic change in sound and is the result of yin and yang mutual transformation.
