"右文说"是我国宋代学者对汉字形声字"声中兼义"现象加以概括总结而形成的一个学说。"右文说"之产生于宋代,既受到其前代字书《说文》、《释名》、《玉篇》等相关研究成果的影响,同时也是与宋代学术风气的熏染分不开的。继承和发展"右文说",必须要建立在对"右文说"有彻底深刻了解的基础上,方可使其成为汉字研究的一把利器。

The＂ Youwen＂ Theory is the scholars of our country Song Dynasty summarized from the phenomenon of the＂ meanings embody in the sound＂. The＂ Youwen＂ Theory was created in Song Dynasty, that was because of the effects whose relevance researches results such as the precedent dictionaries of Shuowenjiezi, Shiming, Yupian, and so on, at the same time the gradual influences of Song Dynasty learnings that was also an essential factor. The culture we being inherited today and developing the ＂Youwen＂ Theory must need to build above the basis of having deep and thorough acquaintance with the＂ Youwen＂ Theory, then can we make the theory become a handful good tool in the Chinese characters studies.
