daptive Kalman filtering spectrophotometry has been developed for the simultaneous determination of mercury and cadmium in environmental water sample with pazobenzenediazoaminoazobenzene sutfonic acid (ADAAS) as a chromogenic reagent. The recoveries of mercury and cadmium were within 97.6%-104.6% and 95.8%-102.3% respectively: The relative Standard deviation were within 2.78%-4.21% and 1.17%-3.43% respectively. The determination of mercury and cadmium in the synthetic water sample has showed that the results of adaptive kalman filtering spectrophotometry were better than those of original Kalman filtering spectrophotometry.
