S-phenyl-N-acetylcysteine(PhAc) is one of metabolite of benzene. The PhAc, in the urine of worker exposed to benzene, are analyzed by HPLC with a C 18 reversed-phase columu and methanol-water-phosphoric acid buffer and ulteaviolet detection at 256nm. The detection limits of PhAc was 2ug/ml. The linear range of determination was 0-30 ug/ml (r=0.998)with recovery above 96% and relative standard deviction of less than 10% The mothod of collect and preserve urine samples were investigated, and correlation between concentrations of urine PhAc and benzene in ari in workshop was probed.
