历史现在时这一语言现象的背后隐藏着时空概念隐喻理论,它反映的是源域"空间"到目标域"时间"上的映射,是空间上的远距离转换成了说话人心理空间上的近距离。从时空概念隐喻的角度来对历史现在时进行隐喻认知分析,就能够合理地解释历史现在时所突现出来的语法形式与语法意义的矛盾,并且找到了认知分析的依据。

Historic Present reflects the present - connectiveness of Simple Present. Behind this linguistic phenomenon, there lies the spatial temporal conceptual metaphor. It presents the fact that the source domain ＂space＂ is projected as a whole onto the target domain ＂time＂. It shows the spatial remoteness is turned into the nearness in the conceptualized mind. Analyzing Historic Present from the perspective of the spatial temporal conceptual metaphor enables us to resolve successfully the contradiction between the grammatical forms and meanings. Furthermore, we make clear the grounds for our analysis.
