历代医家，将《内经》中标本中气理论，运用于《伤寒论》的研究，力倡六经之为病，乃六经气化之病，创立了六经气化学说。该学说解决了形与气的相互关系。六经的基础是脏腑经络应与无形的气化相互联系，相互为用，方能反映脏腑的功能活动。
