The paper expounded the differences to apply Google Earth software to analyzing transportation management methods both home and abroad. The indicators formulated in the transportation engineering theory and the data provided by GE software were studied, and the corresponding operation and implementation through GE graphic user interface and KML language were given respectively, thus forming a rational, multi-level approach. The paper also formulated the use of GE software and Google SketchUp software together to proceed transportation management solution animation, including a whole set of steps, ranging from parameters to the matters deserving attention. The details and advantages of this approach were also analyzed.
