摘要 文章综述了一些发达国家塑料光纤、塑料光缆、光电器件、接续方法和传输试验系统的最新研究情况。由于氟化聚合物梯度折射率分布塑料光纤具有衰减低、带宽宽和价格便宜等特点,故其在短距离、高速率传送中逐渐得到应用。文章阐述了降低塑料光纤衰减和提高塑料光纤带宽的具体措施。同时,也描述了构建塑料光纤传输系统所用的光缆结构、接续方法和光收发模块。传输试验证明,塑料光纤是短距离、高速率传送的最佳传输媒质。 This paper reviews the latest research development in the developed countries in Plastic Optical Fibers (POF), plastic optical fiber cables, photoelectronic devices, connecting methods and transmission test systems. Characteristic of low attenua- tion, broad bandwidth and cheap price, perfluorinated polymer graded index POF has gradually found applications in short-haul high-rate transport. In this paper, specific measures for reducing its attenuation and broadening its bandwidth are introduced and the optical cable structure, connecting methods and transceiver modules for the construction of POF transmission systems described. The transmission test results prove that POF is the optimum transmission medium for short-haul high-rate transport.
