沈曼桢是张爱玲的长篇小说《十八春》的女主人公,在张爱玲笔下的众多女性形象中,她以近乎"完人"的形象出现,而张爱玲却是一贯不主张写"完人"的。因而,不能忽略《十八春》创作的特殊时代,以及在这部作品中透露出来的作者力图适应新时代的努力,因为张爱玲不久以后就离开了大陆,故而这篇作品和这个人物形象也就分外耐人寻味。

Shen Manzhen is the heroine of the novel Eighteen Springs written by Eileen Chang. Among the many female images created by her, Manzhen is the only perfect one, though the author always opposes to write faultless images. So we shouldn＇t ignore the special age when the novel was written and the striving that the author tried to adapt to the new period,because Eileen Chang soon left the mainland. Therefore this character is intensely interesting.
