周济首先提出"尊体"一词,并且依此阐发其词学主张,着重于"论词莫先于品"、"意能尊体"和"以词存史"三个角度予以展开,开辟词学研究的新境界。同时也使得词学尊体研究渐入人心,对词学研究产生深远影响。
