Chinese long traditional culture provides rich ideological resources for the formation and development of modem ecological aesthetics. Tao Yuanming, as a model of Chinese traditional intellectual with his ideal character, practiced ＂poetic settlement＂, and his human dignity and his poetry obviously manifested a kind of harmonious and balanced relationship between man and nature, man and society and man and oneself. Therefore, rereading Tao Yuanming and his pastoral poems under the perspective of ecological aesthetics has profound theoretical and realistic significance.
