李梦阳、何景明等人发起复古运动十余年后,二人之间便发生了一次激烈的争论,它主要涉及了诗法和文体风格两个方面,但其落脚点在文体风格上面。这次争论充分暴露了他们所继承和发展的"格调说"的先天不足,同时也暴露了他们对古诗传统认识的粗糙和分歧。

There was a controversy between Li Mengyang and He Jingming many years after they launched retro movement. This controversy mainly involved two aspects, methods of poetry and style of poetry, the latter being more important. This debate exposed inherent deficiencies of Style theory which they had inherited and developed, reflecting their differences about tradition of poem at the same time.
