As three primary elements for the process of creative thinking, memory, association and imagination are playing the most important role in the creation of architectural sketches. The process of creative thinking in human brain was analyzed. As the basic tool for mem- ory, association and imagination, the ways that the sketches help these three parts to achieve their jobs were discussed, and finally the great leap was obtained in architectural sketches.
