The drama ＂The Return of the Old Woman＂ is the famous work of the Swiss writer Duerrenmatt. The female figure of the leading lady plays an important role in the drama. This article tries to analyse the drama from the angle of the female figure. It points out that the female figure of the old woman Claire is different from the comprehension in the traditional analysis. Then it analyses the tragic experience and the spiritual feelings of the old woman. It also points out that women have a subordinate status in the patriarchy society and reveals tragic fate of women.
